Road Trip!!!!

Day Seven

I felt bad that Bill likes trees and mountains so much and we had only gone through forests and mountains at night so, we were going to drive through the Chatahoochie National Forest. The map on the computer said this was a real road. Instead, it was a road out of the movie Deliverance. We took it though. Had to see the trees.

Believe it or not, on the scary road, we saw this sign. It's blurry because when I got out to take the picture, two giant dogs ran up and started barking.

I did manage to get a decent picture of the actual birthplace of Ty Cobb.

After the forest, we went to Cornelia to see the World's Second Largest Apple. The city a neighboring city to build them a giant apple, they built it but then they built a bigger apple for their own city.

This plaque was by the Big Red Apple. George Bush visited the apple. Wow!

Next on to Athens Georgia to the World's Only Double Barrelled Cannon.

This tree is in Ripley's Believe it or Not. It the tree that owns itself. The guy that owned the property willed the tree and the property 8 feet around the trunk to the tree.

This is a picture of the house my family live in when I was about 4 to about 7 years old. It's in Decatur, Georgia. It looked really different than when we lived there. It was weird going back there.

Then we went to Stone Mountain. The lift up to the top was closed by the time we went there. I remember when we were little, my sister and I would sit down and see how far close we could inch to the side without falling. What? There's a fence up there.

OK, back to the Embassy Suites. Bill was determined at this point to stay at the Embassy Suites. There was one nearby so we went there. Well, there was a beauty pageant going on next door ant the convention center and the hotel was full. Oh well. We'll try again tomorrow night.
