Road Trip '09

This was Captain Nathan Brittle's (John Wayne's) home in She wore a Yellow Ribbon. |
It is the outdoor location only. |
The sign says, "You are inside Mike Goulding's 'potato cellar' in which she would store vegetables & fruits. When John For filmed "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" in 1946, the trading post was used for exterior shots as the cavalry post headquarters; the original dining room was used as the saloon; and this 'cabin' was used for the exterior shots as John Wayne's movie character's home. Behind the glass is a recreation of the interior set, filmed in Hollywood." |
They had photos inside the cabin. This is what it looked like in the movie. |
The only cheesy part was the cardboard cutout of John Wayne. |
They even had a calendar with the dated crossed out, just like John Wayne did in the movie. Counting down to retirement. |
In the main trading post they had some notes from John Wayne. He signed them "Duke." |
I like this picture. I looks like a fake set but it's a real photo. |
In the gift shop. I just shake my head. The packaging says, "It's Rough! - It's Tough! And it doesn't take crap off anyone" |
Back on the road. |
