This is something they pointed out about the sculpture of Hermes. From this angle he looks like a man, sculpted abs, pecs, strong jaw, everything. |
As you move around toward the right, the abs are maybe softening a little, so are the muscles in the legs. |
From this side, if you ignore his manhood, the rest of him is distinctly feminine. Abs are soft, face looks feminine, it's the side he's holding the baby, he even might look like he has a woman's chest. |
Moving around the back the sculpture gets less finished and rough. |
