The Monument of the Eponymous Heroes had bronze statues of the ten heroes representing the tribes of Athens. It was an important information center for the ancient Athenians, it was used as a monument where proposed legislation, decrees and announcements were posted. |

The Great Drain made sure all waste water was drained away from the city. All pipes drained in to the Great Drain. |
Temple of Hephaestus was way up on a hill. Our guide said if any of us wanted to go up there she gave us a time and a place to meet. Not many of us went up there. |

The Temple of Hephaestus is one of the best preserved Greek temples of its kind It remains standing largely as built. From the 7th century until 1834 it served as the Greek Orthodox church of St. George Akamates. |
