2013 Big Adventure
Delos - P.59
These little succulents were everywhere. Most of them had curled leaves. Delos has no fresh water so all water had to be gathered when it rained in aqueducts and cisterns. Since it has no natural resources, the island had to import all of it's food and materials. When the trade dried up, everyone moved off the island. |

What is left of the theater. |
|
The cistern was still intact and had water! |
It used to have a roof but that's gone. |
There's a mosaic floor over there. |
I think this was a private cistern. It was way deeper than it looks! |
This was a well and our tour guide moved the cover to show us the notches on the side. For the life of me I can't remember what the notches were for. I remember when she moved the cover everyone in our group took a picture. It seemed important. |
