Italy Trip

Rome P.4

These baths were bigger than the first ones we saw. These would hold up to 3,000 people a day.

Outside the walls of ancient Rome.

The Chapel of Domine Quo Vadis where Peter met Christ when he fled from Rome to escape martyrdom.

Next we went to the catacombs of St. Domitilla. They didn't allow pictures. This was taken in the garden outside.

There was a lot of traffic.

On top of the Gianicolo Hill is this huge statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi. This is the site of a battle in 1849 between the forces of Garibaldi and French forces fighting on behalf of the Pope

The views from the hill are fantastic!

A nice picture of us with the view.

This kind of statue garden was next to the viewing area.

Goofing around.

Another shot of the view. You can see the dome of St. Peter's Basilica.

They fire the cannon every day at noon.
