Wednesday morning we got up early and took the bus to the Vatican for the Papal audience. It started at 10:30. We got there at 7:30. This was the line already!

Even though we had VIP tickets, that only got us in to a good section. All seats in each section were first come, first served. As soon as people cleared security, they started running for a seat.

We got really good seats. Nine rows back. The Pope sits under the roof.

The front row was reserved. This security guy kept everyone away.

We were glad it was such a nice day. Since it rained the morning before, we were a little worried we might be sitting in the rain. You can see all of the people filling in the seats.

We just liked this while group of nuns wearing baseball hats.

Two Cardinals appeared in this window. Everyone got really excited but they didn't do anything.

It was such a sunny day and a long wait. We saw a lot of people making paper hats.

Finally someone started making announcements.

Then the Swiss Guard came in.
