We were taking these really pretty pics and then there was a HUGE crack of thunder and flash of lightning. It was really close! We ran as fast as we could back to the car.

Back on the road down the mountain!

As it started raining behind us, it got sunnier in front of us.

We stopped by a lake at the bottom of the mountain.

It was really pretty and quiet.

As we were driving, we passed a sign that said, "unimproved road ahead." The road was paved, but needed to be re-topped. We didn't think anything of it. Then, about 10 miles later, we hit dirt road. But it was this kind of dirt road, nice dirt road. OK, we'll keep going. It was far to turn back anyway.

And, as we kept going. WAY rougher dirt road.

And rougher dirt road that had big peaks and drops.

Oh, BOY is this rough! And now it's raining.

At least the rain stopped every once in a while.

Eek! Don't get close to the edge of the "road."
