2013 Big Adventure
Dubrovnik - P.123
There were only 3 places where we could have gotten off the wall. We considered it once but then thought we'd still have to walk all the way across the city to get back to where we'd have to go to get on the ship so, we kept walking. |
Even though our feet were killing us, Bill was having such a great time taking photos, I doubt we would have gotten off the wall early unless we were completely out of time. |
Land walls protected with an additional range of slanted supporting walls, as defense against artillery fire. |

The Minceta Tower is a symbol of the "unconquerable" city of Dubrovnik. It takes it's name from the name of the Mencetic family, who owned the land where the tower was built. It is the most prominent point in the defensive system towards the land and has the best views of the city. |
