2013 Big Adventure

Villa Campestri/On the Road- P.12

Villa Campestri

We couldn't help but take pictures before we got in the car to leave.

Everything was so pretty there!

Our rental car, all packed up!

Luckily the last time we were in Italy we had a driver that showed us how to work the toll roads so we were pros at it!

On the way, we intended to stop at Lucca and walk around.

It's this really cool, walled city.

Inside the walls it's VERY pretty.

But, we were out of time so we could only drive around the wall and take pictures of the wall, we were VERY bummed about it. Oh, well, another reason to go back to Italy!

The cruise port at Civitavecchia was VERY confusing. We drove in where we thought Bill could drop me off with the luggage but, there was no entry allowed. It turned out Bill had to drop me off at a random corner with the luggage while he returned the car and walked back to where I was so we could take a bus about a block to the ship.

Civitaveccia

While I was waiting for Bill, I was checking out this giant statue on the beach.

The Unconditional Surrender statue is a series of statues by Seward Johnson. It is based on a similar, less well known, photograph by Victor Jorgensen.
