The ship stopped at Grand Cayman! We chilled.
The hats
They didn't make it back home. I was disappointed. I loved them!

We think this is a ray, pretty sure.
Happy 2018!
They had all kinds of fun stuff going on. A big arty, hats and noisemakers and we got a ummy dessert with dinner.
Moon
We thought the moon looked cool over Jamaica!
Day 12
New Year's Eve! Montego Bay, Jamaica. Again, we didn't get off but we had to wait to sit out on the deck, they were running crew drills.

Downtown
I shot a few pics while we drove through.
Radio station
This looked like an awesome house with a HUGE Cuban flag blowing in the wind. Our guide said it's now a radio station.
Dance!
Their last number was a dance, kind of conga line, including masks.
Flute concert
Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to the concert part of the tour. First, it was scheduled to be a children's choir but then it was rescheduled to the flutes. They were so GOOD! We had a good time!
Concert venue
Our last stop on the tour was a flute concert. This was their outdoor venue.
Our Cuba "boarding passes"
They gave us these old airline boarding passes when we went through immigration to get in to Cienfuegos. We had to return them to immigration to leave.
Palacio de Valle
Really cool-looking next door to Hotel Jagua.
Christmas tree!
It was so warm it was hard to think it's Christmas season. There also weren't many Christmas decorations around Cuba. Our guide told us the government, until Fidel Castro's last year, discouraged religion and not many people there celebrate Christmas. In Fidel Castro's last few years, he turned more to religion and the country is following a bit.
Cooo sculpture
I just liked it. It was in the lobby.
Hotel Jagua
The tour included lunch. It was at the Hotel Jagua.
Yacht Club
Our guide said this used to be known as "Jack's Club." A lot of the older people on the bus said, "Oooh!" but we didn't figure out what that was. I'm assuming JFK?
Fabulous!
I LOVED the houses.
Port terminal
When I looked this building up it said it was the port terminal. It's not the cruise terminal.
Blue wall
I liked the building.
Pay phones!
I love them!
Horse cart
Maybe the reason for the horse cart sign earlier?
Art vendors
They took us to a street where they had street vendors selling local wares. It was really good shopping because most of the wares were hand made, not typical tourist stuff.
Food vendor
With a bicycle cart!
City Hall
We walked through Martí Park towards City Hall.
Medici Lion
Outside the Cathedral de la Purisma Concepción. These copies of the original Medici Lions were built in 1833–69.
Classic cars!
There were WAY less classic cars in Cienfuegos than in Havana. It kind of reinforced what our guide said, that they're for the tourists. I still liked them.
Cathedral up close
The Cathedral was closed so, unfortunately, we couldn't go inside.
Teatro Tomas Terry
A very historic theather in downtown Cinefuegos.

I thought it looked cool.
September 5th sign
During the Cuban Revolution, the city saw an uprising against Fulgencio Batista and was bombed in retaliation on September 5, 1957.

We had tickets to see Rob Thomas at the Majestic Theater in San Antonio on July 11th. We decided to go on a mini road trip to get there. We left on Friday morning, took back roads, went to antique shops, saw oddities and wildflowers, stayed at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg and made it to the concert Saturday night.

Funchal Madeira! Our tour took us to Camara de Lobos, a small fishing village made famous by Winston Churchill and then we were off to Cabo Girao, the highest sea cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world.
