El Cristo de la Habana

We stopped at the Christ of Havana statue. It was that big one we saw as the ship was pulling in to port.

You can see, the sign says it's made of Carrera marble imported from Italy. It was blessed by the XII Pope before it was shipped and blessed by Cardinal Manuel Arleaga when it arrived in Havana. It's located 51 meters above sea level and is 20 meters high. It's formed by 77 pieces that all weigh 320 tons.

A huge statue of Jesus across the bay from Havana. We'll see it closer later in the day.

Drinking wine

Statues

There were a bunch of statues around the side and back of the museum. That kissing couple back there is a statue too!

Statue

We just liked it. We walked around Key West, Bill bought a hat at Margaritaville and then we came back to the ship. It was almost time for the ship to leave port.

Celebration

It's in front of the Custom House Museum in advance of a year-long exhibit celebrating the centennial of the Navy’s aviation presence on Key West.

Embrace of Peace

We saw this statue in Civitaveccia. It was called "Unconditional Surrender." The sculptor said because of the criticism of people who view it as a drunken sailor grabbing an unwilling woman in public, he changed the name to "Embrace of Peace."

Karl of Habsburg. He passed away in 1922 and was Beatified in 2004.

Outside of the wave

The outside of the "wave walkway." It kinda has double columns. One is made to look like a lady. Pretty cool!
