Lanai Stateroom

We upgraded to a Lanai Stateroom fro this cruise and we're so glad we did, we loved it! We had a sliding glass back door to the room that was shaded so no one could see in. It led out to the lower promenade deck. There were two deck chairs right outside that were open almost the entire cruise. We just went outside and enjoyed!

Spinning TV

Usually I wouldn't have shown the TV but they set this one up where you could spin it if you wanted to watch TV in the bed room or living room. It was pretty cool!

Gladys' bathroom room

Elvis' Mom's room. It could have been his prent's room but the tour guide told us it was his Mom's room. Also, you'll see the bathroom was done specifically for his Mom and only his Mom's clothes are in the closet. That could be for show but, I'm unsure, it could be just for tour purposes.

Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii

The Aloha from Hawaii concert was playing 24 hours a day on one of the channels. Some trivia about the concert: It was the first program to ever be beamed around the world by satellite and was seen by 1.5 billion viewers. It was aired in over 40 countries and is still the most watched entertainment show with only one performer. All of the profits went the the Kui Lee Cancer foundation and even Elvis paid for his ticket, $1,000.

I should have opened the drawer. The inside of the drawers were painted red to match the pillow on the bed.

Aurora alarm

We were watching a movie on the iPad, maybe going to sleep and the aurora alarm we paid for went off. We leaped out of bed and put on all of our layers as quickly as we could, grabbed the camera and ran out of the cabin! We did well. We were outside about 10 minutes after the alarm went off.

Big windows

We had some nice windows to look out and see if there was an aurora happening before we threw on all of our layers of clothing!

Our room!

We had a loft so, technically, another couple could have stayed with us if we were travelling in a group. We were one of four rooms in a 4-plex log cabin.

Thick walls

You can see at the window how thick the walls are! It was too dark to take photos outside but the security wall was still outside too.

Hotel Katajanokka

We stayed at the Hotel Katajanokka in Helsinki. It used to be a prison and they've converted it in to a hotel.
