Dogs!

We'd been driving around town for about 4 hours by now and we had only seen one dog. Someone on the bus even asked our guide how common it was for people to have dogs as pets because we didn't see any dogs. There were 4 dogs in the street coming in to Fusterland!

Granma mosaic

Castro and the revolutionaries on the Granma. This one is my favorite propaganda. They look like they're going on vacation with the heart and the guy in the back playing the guitar. So happy!

Princess Diana

Details

Nothing was just tiles with just one color or plain. Just about everything deserved a close look because it had a design.

So much work!

I can't imagine tiling so much stuff! I tried to mosaic tile a bird bath one time and it was too much work for me!

Fusterlandia!

Cuban artist Cuban artist José Fuster moved in to a house in Jaimanitas. He decorated his studio in colorful mosaic tiles. When he was finished, he asked his neighbors if he could decorate their houses and businesses. His art has turned Jaimanitas from an economically depressed area to, now, a place where tourists are regularly bussed.
