Watching
A lot of people came out to see us pull in to port. This was the inaugural cruise for Holland America to Cuba so, they made a big deal about it. We heard the CEO as well as some of the higher execs were on board.
Beautiful!
We were excitedly taking pictures of Havana but the sunrise was so beautiful it kept pulling our gaze away.
Faro Castillo del Morro
The Morro Castle and lighthouse (faro) is one of the symbols of Havana and one of the most visited places by tourists. Completed in the 17th century, it has been photographed and painted by many and has also appeared in several movies.
Capitol
You can see the capitol building right in the center. It's modeled after ours in Washington D.C. but they say, "It's a few inches taller."
Havana!
I'm not sure what I expected Havana to look like. It wasn't this huge city.
Beautiful day!
The Captain made an announcement that the front of the ship would be open as we pulled in to Havana. We went up there to take pictures as we pulled in to port! It looked like it was going to be a beautiful day!

We took a zig zag course coming in to Havana. The distance from Key West and Havana is so short, even going as slowly as we could the Captain said we couldn't go slow enough so we took turns to waste time.
