They gave us a certain time to meet at the bus. We didn't want to be late!
One last shot
We had to start heading toward the bus.
Banyan trees
I think they're banyan trees. So cool!
Amazing trees
It was so pretty here, with the trees growing down the wall, I wish we could have stayed here longer.
Secret garden
We walked through a random arch and found this beautiful garden. Literally a secret garden. It was so peaceful and quiet.
Pretty!
This part of the fort looked very "old town" compared to the barracks.
Prison cell?
I really thought this was a tiny prison cell but the sign said it's access from the fort to the dock at the bay.
So big!
The fort was so big! We had time to walk around but there was no way we could see every part.
Obelisk memorial
To all the soldiers that died at the fort.
Cool cannons!
Pointed out toward the water. You can see our ship in the background.
Another gun
No idea why it's turned toward the fort.
Memorial
A memorial to the memory of the Feliciano Captain Risech Amat. "Your memory will last to encourage our institution."
The other way
You can see the different buildings in the distance. This is where the troops used to stay. Open space within the fortress where the troops used to line up. There is a water reservoir which collects rain water through a complex hydraulic system. The storage was big enough to supply water to the troops for one whole year under siege.
Big!
It was so much larger and spacious inside than I thought. It was like a little city. Down this street you can see to the ocean.
Cool inside
It was very cool inside. I like the doors.
Drawbridge machinery
I love the old hardware in these forts.
