Day 9

Funchal Madeira! Our tour took us to Camara de Lobos, a small fishing village made famous by Winston Churchill and then we were off to Cabo Girao, the highest sea cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world.

After we left Funchal we sat in the atrium a bit and then back to the room. We sat out on the balcony and saw the Desertas Islands…

Once they stopped they waited for our ship to pass before they moved their boat again.

The large island is Deserta Grande. The islands have several species of birds, rabbits, goats, lizards and even tarantulas as well…

We could see red and yellow on the big island. We thought maybe there were flowers or grasses. We couldn't tell. It was far away.
