Day 3

Exploring Cuenca, the cathedral, famous bridge, our parador.

  1. Neat tomb

We liked the skeleton on top of the tomb. Morbidly cool.

  2. The Main Sacristy

  3. Awesome!

The Sacristy was so beautiful with the gold wall and all of the intricately carved woodwork. So much to look at!

  4. Closeup

A closeup of some of the inserts in the gold wall.

  5. Mary and the angel

As I said before, the woodwork in here was amazing. This door depics the angel coming to the Virgin Mary.

  6. Opposite door

The doors on the opposite side depict the Garden of Eden.

  7. Things is storage

A few things stored in the Sacristy. I'm not sure what they're used for.

  8. My favorite!

  9. Closeup snake

A closeup pic so you can see the snake in the back.

  10. Pretty!

The photo doesn't so it justice.

  11. Doorway to the Chapterhouse

Beautiful door. They still managed to work in some skulls (bottom left and right corners).

  12. Chapterhouse

The Chapterhouse was kind of disappointing but it had a really great ceiling.

  13. Chapel of the Transparente

  14. Offerings

Instead of lighting a real candle, you put money in at whichever chapel you choose and a candle lights up.

  15. Chapel of the Knights

The Chapel of the Knights was a big chapel. This was just one of the items in there.

  16. Bearded knight

This one was cool for so many reasons. First, a knight in the Chape of Kinghts shown with his sword and second, long hair and full…

  17. In the floor

There were no names anywhere so we didn't know who they were. He was in the floor. No sword so not sure if he was a knight but he…

  18. The woman

Again, don't know who this is, the only woman in the Chapel of the Knights. She appeared to be coming out of the ground. You could…

  19. Knight in armor

Very cool knight in full armor.

  20. Toward the exit

Even though we can see the exit there's still a lot left to see.
