Italy Trip

Rome P.7

The Trevi Fountain!

It was built at the juncture of three roads (tre vie in Italian), which is how it got it's name. It's the termination of one of the ancient Roman aqueducts.

A close-up of Neptune on his shell chariot.

The whole fountain.

Bill in front of the fountain.

We were hungry so we stopped in a very small restaurant right next to the fountain. They had yummy gnocchi!

The restaurant was also a Gellateria. Yum!

We threw a coin in the fountain each to ensure we'd return to Rome.

If you throw two coins it means you will fall in love with a beautiful Roman girl (or handsome boy), and throwing three coins mean you will marry that girl or boy in Rome. We already had those two covered.

There were LOTS of people around the fountain.

Going back to the car. The place where we ate was on the right.

This looks like an aqeduct but it's actually a covered walkway for the Pope to leave the Vatican in case of an emergency.
